Melva was a valuable and beloved member of the Utah Storytelling Guild. She was mischievous in her crafting of stories, with a lovely voice and ideas and images that surprised and delighted audiences. Her intelligent humor built sturdy and complex stories that won you over as she recounted her tales. A word lover, she made it an adventure to listen to her words and phrases, tumbling out into her stories. She will be greatly missed.
I have performed stories at Thanksgiving Point, Pioneer Days, Ellis Island Orem event, Community fairs, Provo Park, South Town Mall, Pioneer village, Orem’s Library Liars Competition (twice), Springville Art Museum, family reunions, Pioneer Park, Patriot camps, family parties, and Weber State Story Telling Festival as well as Story Crossroads.
